Thanks to their foresight and generosity, the school has over 12,000 graduates and continues to expand to serve… Job Summary: Residential Youth Caregivers are essential members of our residential life team and play a critical role in creating a nurturing, supportive, and structured home environment for students at Milton Hershey School (MHS). They work collaboratively with a team of colleagues, including houseparents, and school staff to provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of students residing in a campus home. Residential Youth Caregivers help students develop positive relationships, social skills, and life skills while upholding the values and expectations of the school. Responsibilities: * Provide direct care and supervision for a group of students in a residential home. * Assist with daily living activities, including but not limited to, meal preparation, hygiene, and room care. * Support students' academic success by encouraging homework completion and providing a conducive study environment. * Implement and reinforce school policies and procedures, including behavioral expectations and safety protocols. * Create and maintain a positive and supportive home environment, fostering a sense of belonging and community. * Facilitate recreational and social activities, promoting teamwork, communication, and healthy relationships. * Communicate regularly with houseparents, teachers, and other school staff regarding student progress, concerns, and needs. * Administer medication and provide basic first aid, as needed. * Attend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development activities. * Model positive behavior and serve as a role model for students. * Maintain accurate records and documentation, including incident reports and student progress notes. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Experience working with children and/or adolescents preferred. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. * Ability to maintain confidentiality. * Willingness to learn and adapt to changing needs. * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Must be able to pass a background check and health screening.
