As a Reservist Non-Commissioned Officer Engineering Civil Engineering at the Construction Engineers, you will find the ideal combination. You will be deployed in your professional discipline, but at the same time, as a leading military officer, you will provide support to the entire armed forces. This is what you will do

As a Reservist Non-Commissioned Officer Engineering Civil Engineering at 101 Engineering Battalion, you will embark on a dynamic and challenging role. You will become part of a close-knit team, and that's a good thing, because you will be working a lot in a team. You will collaborate with full-time colleagues and other reservists, who are eagerly awaiting your arrival and the experience you bring.

In this role, you are not only an expert in your field but also a leader. You will manage a team of about ten technicians and guide them on various projects. Whether it's building roads and bridges or creating protective structures; you are the linchpin around which the team revolves.

Please note: as a military reservist, you are hired by Defense on a zero-hours contract. We expect you to be available for at least two weeks per year and that you can be deployed for longer exercises of several weeks per year. There is also a chance you will be asked for actual deployment in the Netherlands or abroad; never mandatory, but that is what we train for. Naturally, you will only be deployed after consultation with you and your employer.

This is where you will work

You will be placed at 101 Engineering Battalion in Wezep. 101 Engineering Battalion consists of two construction companies in Wezep and one water construction company in Hedel. It is highly probable that you will be deployed not only in the Netherlands but also abroad to contribute to exercises and deployments of Dutch soldiers.

If you have previously served in the military and left service less than six years ago, you may be eligible for a shortened selection procedure. You will be appointed in the rank with which you left service. If you have not been in the military before, you will go through the procedure as described on werkenbijdefensie.nl and, after a positive assessment, follow the Basic Training Royal Netherlands Army (BOKL) for reservists.
