Then the role of Reservist Officer Engineer in the construction engineering corps offers you the ideal combination. What you will do

As a Reservist Officer Engineer, you will start at the 101st Engineer Battalion and you will never work alone: you will be added to an existing team. You will collaborate with and lead full-time colleagues and other reservists, who, as you will quickly notice, are very much looking forward to your arrival and especially the experience you bring! With you, Defense gains an expert in your specialist field, but above all someone who is capable of leading and directing a platoon of approximately 35 technicians. They are deployed to build and maintain camps or to construct roads, bridges, protective structures, etc.

Where you will work

You will be stationed at 101 Gnbat in Wezep. 101 Gnbat consists of two construction companies in Wezep and one water construction company in Hedel. There is a good chance that you will be deployed not only in the Netherlands but also abroad to contribute to exercises and deployments of Dutch soldiers.

If you have been a soldier before and left service less than six years ago, you may be able to skip parts of the selection procedure and in principle start immediately. You will be appointed to the rank with which you left service. If you have not been a soldier before, you will go through the procedure as described on werkenbijdefensie.nl and, after positive advice, you will follow the General Military Training for Reservists Basic (ARB) for two weeks.
