Do you have experience as an excavator, bulldozer and/or wheel loader operator, or as a telescopic crane operator? Or do you have experience as an (engineer) diver? Do you also have an affinity with Defense and the Engineers in particular? Then you will find the ideal combination in the role of Civil Engineering Reservist at the construction engineers. What you will do

As a Civil Engineering Reservist, you will work at 101 Engineer Battalion (101 Gnbat) and you will never work alone: you will be added to an existing team. You will collaborate with full-time colleagues and other reservists, who are eagerly awaiting your arrival and experience! With you, Defense gains an expert in your professional discipline, and you will be deployed for the construction of roads, bridges, protective structures, hydraulic engineering structures, etc. All necessary because we want to ensure our people and allies can work, stay, and move safely.

Where you will work

You will be stationed at 101 Gnbat. 101 Gnbat consists of two construction companies in Wezep and one bridge company in Hedel. There is a good chance that you will be deployed not only in the Netherlands but also abroad to contribute to exercises and deployments of Dutch soldiers.

If you have been a soldier before and left the service less than six years ago, you may be able to skip parts of the selection procedure and in principle start immediately. You will be appointed in the rank with which you left the service. If you have not been a soldier before, you will go through the procedure as described on werkenbijdefensie.nl and, after a positive assessment, you will follow the General Military Training for Reservists Basic (ARB) of two weeks.
