Job description

Introduction Text

Do you have experience as a Logistics Employee and do you want to become a soldier (again)? Then you will find the ideal combination in the role of Reservist Logistics Employee at Supply and Transport. As a reservist logistics employee, you play an indispensable role in the supply of the entire armed forces. Have you become enthusiastic? Apply directly!

This is what you will do

As a Reservist Logistics Employee at the Supply & Transport Command (B&TCo), you will be deployed for the operational supply of combat units in the field. Your role is to manage the intake, storage, and transshipment of all types of goods in a warehouse, such as food, water, clothing, parts, fuel, and ammunition. You are responsible for the registration of these goods and you help to keep the warehouses full and organized. You assist in assembling the supplies that are sent to the troops, using lifting and hoisting equipment.

As a reservist logistics employee, you are service-oriented and always willing to roll up your sleeves. As a reservist logistics employee, you can also be deployed abroad. An example of this is setting up a warehouse during exercises in Germany or elsewhere. Because your work may be close to the combat zone, you will receive military training as a logistics employee. This makes your work as a reservist logistics employee unique.

PLUS POINTS OF THIS FUNCTION

  • Work atmosphere: you work, live, and exercise together, building strong bonds with your colleagues.
  • Challenge: you are a team player and, together with your team, ensure that your colleagues in the armed forces have all the resources in combat situations to continue the fight.
  • Development: in addition to developing your technical skills, you will learn to act as a soldier and maintain these military skills.

Note: as a military reservist, you will primarily be deployed to meet peak demands in the logistics chain. You will therefore be appointed on a zero-hours contract and paid for the hours you actually work when called up for service. You are expected to maintain your military skills annually and may be deployed several times a year during exercises lasting one or more weeks. The total deployment will be four to six weeks per year. You will make agreements about this with your commander.

This is where you will work

You will be placed at the Supply and Transport Command (B&TCo) of the Royal Netherlands Army at the Stroe military base. The B&TCo provides supply, (heavy) transport, and various services such as catering capabilities, and the planning and execution of non-operational road transport of goods under operational conditions.

If you have been in the military before and left service less than six years ago, you may be able to skip parts of the selection procedure. If you have not been in the military before, you will go through the full procedure as described on werkenbijdefensie.nl and, after a positive assessment, you will follow the General Military Training for reservists (ARB).

€0 ~ €0 salary Location: Garderen

As a reservist, you are paid for your deployment based on a zero-hours contract. You receive an hourly wage that depends on your rank and is equal to that of a professional soldier. Are you going on an exercise or deployment? Then you receive an exercise or deployment allowance on top of your salary. You also receive a travel allowance. More info
