Reservist Logistics Employee at Supply and Transport

Introductory Text

Do you have experience as a Logistics employee and want to become a soldier (again)? Then the position of Reservist Logistics Employee at Supply and Transport offers you the ideal combination. As a reservist logistics employee, you play an indispensable role in supplying the entire armed forces. Are you enthusiastic? Apply immediately!

What you will do

As a Reservist Logistics Employee at the Supply & Transport Command (B&TCo), you will be deployed for the operational supply of combat units in the field. Your role is to manage the incoming, outgoing, and transshipment of all types of goods in a storage center, such as food, water, clothing, parts, fuel, and ammunition. You are responsible for registering these goods and you help to keep the warehouses full and organized. You assist in assembling the supplies that are sent to the troops and you use lifting and hoisting equipment for this.

As a reservist logistics employee, you have a service-oriented attitude and are always willing to roll up your sleeves. As a reservist logistics employee, you may also be deployed abroad. An example of this is setting up a storage center during exercises in Germany or elsewhere. Because your activities can be close to the combat zone, you will receive military training as a logistics employee. That makes your work as a reservist logistics employee unique.

PLUS POINTS OF THIS FUNCTION

• Work atmosphere: you work, live, and train together, building strong bonds with your colleagues.
• Challenge: you are a team player and, together with your team, ensure that your colleagues in the armed forces have all the resources in combat situations to continue the fight.
• Development: in addition to developing your technical skills, you will learn to act as a soldier and maintain these military skills.

Note: as a military reservist, you are primarily deployed to meet peak demands in the logistics chain. You are therefore appointed on a zero-hour contract and paid for the hours you actually work when called up for service. You are expected to maintain your military skills annually and may be deployed several times a year during exercises lasting one or more weeks. The total deployment will be four to six weeks per year. You will make arrangements for this with your commander.

Where you will work

You will be placed at the Supply and Transport Command (B&TCo) of the Royal Netherlands Army at the Stroe army base. The B&TCo provides supply, (heavy) transport, and various services such as catering capabilities and the planning and execution of non-operational road transport of goods under operational circumstances.

If you have previously served in the military and left service less than six years ago, you may be able to skip parts of the selection procedure. If you have not previously been in the military, you will go through the full procedure as described on werkenbijdefensie.nl and, after a positive assessment, follow the General Military Training for reservists (ARB).
