This is what you will do

As a Reservist with the Infantry Guarding Securing, you can be deployed for guarding and securing during emergencies in your immediate living environment. You can also be deployed to assist in maintaining public order or in providing aid, such as during floods or forest fires. Any deployment abroad will only happen with your consent.

As an Infantry Guarding Securing military, you perform your work alongside your civilian job or studies. It is therefore a part-time job based on a zero-hour contract. You will receive an annual plan in advance so that you can align your work activities well with your work or studies and your home situation. On average, it costs you as a soldier about 300 hours per year, divided over two training evenings and one or two Saturdays per month. In addition, you will have a multi-day exercise on average two to three times a year, from Thursday or Friday to Saturday. Other deployments or support activities cost you approximately 60 hours per year and can take place on weekdays.

Before you start, you will follow the General Reservist Basic Training at one of the military training centers in the Netherlands (2 weeks). Afterwards, you can grow into a leadership position as a non-commissioned officer or officer, provided you meet the requirements for that position. A job with the National Reserve is voluntary, but certainly not without obligation! So consider carefully whether this is feasible for you.

Note: A condition to be able to apply is that you have attended an information session. Please look under 'Events' and register for a live information session National Reserve Corps (event) near you. Information session completed? On the first day of each month, we will publish new information sessions in all regions on the website again. Actively serving military personnel are also very welcome, so that they can make a well-considered choice to become a reservist when they leave service, but an information session is not mandatory for them.

PLUS POINTS OF THIS FUNCTION

• Salary: in addition to your hourly wage, you will receive a holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus, and pension accrual pro rata to the number of hours worked. You will also receive travel expenses reimbursement on a duty travel basis.
• Work atmosphere: nowhere will you be part of such a close-knit team of colleagues as at Defense.
• Challenge: you will be deployed to increase flexibility, employability, operational endurance, and to cope with peak loads.

You will work at the 30 Infantry Guarding Securing Battalion. If you have a preference for a unit, you can indicate this in your application. We will try to take this into account. Currently, there are placement opportunities at the following locations:
