Introduction

Have you gained experience in planning and coordinating transport and loading and rigging equipment on all sorts of transport modalities? Do you fancy becoming a military (again)? Then you can certainly handle the role of Reservist Deployment Employee at the Supply & Transport Command (B&TCo). You will be deployed to support the entire armed forces at home and abroad, so your work is never monotonous!

What you will do

As a Reservist Deployment, you will be deployed to the 120 deployment company, a unit of the Supply & Transport Command. Your main task? That is preparing military equipment and goods for transport and coordinating military movements. For example, you will load trucks onto a ship, secure an armored howitzer on a train, and pack equipment in the prescribed manner, carrying out all the administrative tasks involved. You are the communication link between teams in the field and central planning. One moment you are working at a railway yard, the next at an airport. Because you work with diverse equipment, it is important that your knowledge is up-to-date. Therefore, there are mandatory courses such as basic hazardous materials and regulations for air cargo. Because your activities may take place near combat operations, you will be trained as a military member.

As a Reservist Deployment, you are a true team player and always willing to roll up your sleeves. As a Reservist Deployment, you can also be deployed abroad. In addition to your professional development, you will work on your fitness and your development as a military member.

Note: as a military reservist, you will primarily be deployed to cover peak demands in the logistics chain. You will therefore be appointed on a zero-hour contract and paid for the hours you actually work on active duty. You are expected to maintain your military skills annually and may be deployed a few times a year during exercises lasting one or more weeks. The total deployment will be four to six weeks per year. You will make arrangements about this with your commander.

Where you will work

You will be placed at the Supply and Transport Command (B&TCo) of the Royal Netherlands Army at the Stroe Army Base. The B&TCo provides supply, (heavy) transport, deployment support, and various services such as catering capabilities and the planning and execution of non-operational road freight transport under operational conditions.

If you have been in the military before and left service less than six years ago, you may be able to skip parts of the selection procedure. If you have not been in the military before, you will go through the full procedure as described on werkenbijdefensie.nl and, after a positive recommendation, follow the General Military Training for reservists (ARB).
