Job Title: Research Fellow (Physics/Environmental Science/Computer Science) Posting Start Date: 30/01/2026 Job Description The Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute (SNRSI), a university-level research institute at NUS established in 2014, is committed to excellence in nuclear safety research. Within SNRSI, the Radionuclide Dispersion and Dose Assessment team specialises in modelling the migration and impact of radioactive pollutants through various pathways in Singapore and the surrounding environment. The team's work focuses on understanding the dispersion of radionuclides in air, water, and soil, as well as assessing the resulting radiation doses to humans and the environment. This research is crucial for developing effective strategies for mitigating the risks associated with nuclear accidents or intentional releases. As a Research Fellow, you will be part of a dynamic team working on cutting-edge projects that aim to improve our understanding of radionuclide dispersion and dose assessment. Key responsibilities: • Conduct research in the area of radionuclide dispersion and dose assessment using computational models and experimental techniques; • Collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines to develop and apply novel methods for predicting radionuclide migration and impact; • Analyse and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that inform our understanding of radionuclide behaviour; • Develop and maintain databases and software tools to support research activities; • Prepare and present research findings in the form of reports, papers, and presentations; • Contribute to the development of research proposals and funding applications. Requirements: • A PhD in Physics, Environmental Science, Computer Science or a related field; • Strong background in computational modelling and simulation techniques, including programming skills in languages such as Python, MATLAB, or Fortran; • Experience with data analysis and interpretation using statistical software packages like R or Excel; • Familiarity with radiation protection principles and practices; • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
