JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Technical Sales Representative is part of the commercial and field service staff. The sales and service specialist will report to the general manager and will be responsible for increasing sales in existing accounts, as well as identifying new products, services, markets, and customers to target. This position will service customers to keep equipment operational through repair and maintenance, along with installing new systems as needed. They will regularly interact with customers, potential clients, suppliers, and coworkers to provide the necessary service and communication to support current and new business. The primary focus will be on Western Mexico.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sales/Growth Initiatives: Develop short-term and long-term strategies to keep business moving forward and achieve projected growth objectives. Execute sales plans and meet growth targets.
  • Account Management: Connect with key individuals at customer facilities to ensure satisfaction with products and services. Provide updates to the Decco manager and others to keep the team informed of business activities. Maintain updated inventories to facilitate Decco treatments at customer facilities.
  • Sales Forecasting: Provide forecasts by customer and product for current and new business. These should be completed monthly and updated as market changes occur.
  • Commercial/Operational Excellence: Deliver optimal performance on financial and operational metrics such as contribution margin, resource optimization, product performance, and equipment functionality. Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Portfolio and Process Knowledge: Become an expert in the portfolio of products and services offered by Decco. Must develop a deep understanding of crop treatment and handling during the post-harvest phase.
  • Equipment Maintenance/Installation: Must be capable of installing, maintaining, and operating product mixing and application equipment.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrate ability to diagnose and repair pumps, motors, control cabinets, and other types of machinery to return them to proper working order. Ability to work in diverse situations to achieve desired results by collaborating with team members, supervisors, and customers.
  • Professional Deliverables: Prepare documents to present to customers, the team, and company partners and leaders. Ability to professionally present to individuals or groups. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all sales and service activities for reporting purposes.


EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Agronomy Engineering
  • 4 years of experience in agricultural product sales.
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office programs
  • Skills with hand and power tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Valid driver's license.


PREFERRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Business-to-business and direct-to-consumer sales experience.
  • 2 years of experience in machinery repair, maintenance, and operation
  • Knowledge of post-harvest handling practices for fruits and vegetables.
  • Previous experience in making commercial presentations.
  • Knowledge of the operation of pumping and mixing equipment.
  • Experience in welding and metal cutting.
  • Extended periods of driving.


Location: Michoacán, preferably in Apatzingán


Travel: Approximately 70%. Travel primarily in Western Mexico, including Michoacán, Jalisco, Colima, and other states in the assigned region.

As needed to meet annual plan objectives.
