The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced and committed Registered Nurses to join our clinical team at Timbrebongie House. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for residents in accordance with accepted nursing practice and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised nursing care plans in accordance with professional standards and organisational policies.
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and document care appropriately.
- Provide clinical interventions, treatments and therapies, including medication administration, and monitor residents’ responses to treatment and care plans.
- Work collaboratively with General Practitioners, allied health professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team to coordinate resident care.
- Promote health and well-being and assist in preventing ill health through education and health promotion activities.
- Provide clear information and respond to questions from residents and their families regarding treatment, care and support services.
- Supervise, coordinate and delegate care activities to Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and other care staff.
- Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards, clinical governance requirements and relevant legislation.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement activities.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and manage clinical care in a residential aged care setting.
- Sound knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and clinical governance requirements.
- Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening check or have the ability to obtain one.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise and support a multidisciplinary care team.
- Computer literacy and experience with clinical documentation systems.
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in residential aged care.
- Experience in dementia care, palliative care, wound care or continence management.
- Understanding of current aged care reforms and funding frameworks.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
