Registered Nurse - Medical Oncology | Melbourne

Exciting opportunities are available for experienced oncology-trained Registered Nurses to join a Day Therapy Unit on a part-time basis, working flexible hours, at a private hospital in Melbourne.
ROLE DESCRIPTION As a Registered Nurse, your duties will encompass:

• Administration of chemotherapy/immunotherapy and supportive treatments;
• Educating patients on self-care and the effective strategies for management of side effects;
• Providing evidence-based nursing care, including a comprehensive assessment of patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy as well as other infusions for conditions such as Crohn's and MS;
• Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team;
• Ensuring patient and staff safety;
• Delivering education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation, or end-of-life needs.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Current Registration with AHPRA;
• Working with Children Check;
• Experience working in oncology and haematology;
• Experience administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or related cancer treatments;
• Competency in PICC, PORT, IV Cannulation and phlebotomy skills;
• Current ADAC qualification;
• CVAD management experience;
• Commitment to Quality Patient Care;
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
• Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication and customer service skills;
• Works well independently and within a team;
• Basic computer skills.
