Registered Nurse - Inpatient Orthopaedic Ward

About the Role

Step into a role where you can make a real impact on patient recovery in a busy, high-acuity orthopaedic ward. You'll provide hands-on care for patients following joint replacement and spinal surgeries, working across a 24/7 roster with flexible 8-hour shifts and the added perk of Christmas and New Year off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for post-operative orthopaedic patients
  • Conduct thorough assessments, monitor patient conditions, and respond promptly to changes
  • Administer medications and manage pain effectively
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless continuity of care
  • Support patients and their families through education and engagement during recovery

About You

You are a competent, confident RN who thrives in fast-paced surgical environments. You will bring:

  • Current NZ Nursing Council registration and APC
  • At least 2 years of recent experience caring for patients post joint replacement and/or spinal surgery in NZ or comparable health systems (Australia, UK, Ireland)
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a busy, dynamic ward
