Technical Writer in Aeronautics

One of our clients, a leader in the aerospace sector, is looking for a Technical Writer.

As a Technical Writer, you will have the mission to write a complete and precise manual, providing detailed instructions for repairing and maintaining structural components of an aircraft. You will also be responsible for writing similar technical manuals for all aircraft models.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Conduct research and deepen your knowledge on structural components and aircraft systems
• Collaborate with experts to gather information and technical specifications.
• Write clear, concise, and precise instructions for performing tasks related to repairing and maintaining all aircraft systems and structural components
• Organize and present the information in a logical and user-friendly manner.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Review and revise manuals based on comments and updates.

Requirements

• Hold a college diploma or university degree in a relevant field, or equivalent.
• Experience in maintaining aircraft and good knowledge of aerospace systems, interfaces, and functioning is a strong asset.
• Mastery of technical writing tools such as FrameMaker and Arbortext, or other technical software.
• Basic understanding of the S1000D standard, XML language, interactive electronic manual applications, and content management systems required.
• Ability to interpret technical documents (e.g., technical drawings, specifications, and standards) required.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
• Familiarity with French
• Excellent knowledge of English, as this position requires communications in English with Bell teams outside Quebec and/or suppliers, partners, and clients outside Quebec
