Reablement & Bridging Senior Care Officer
Job description
We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients in Cardiff for a Senior Care Officer to join their Community Reablement Team.
The role involves supporting adults to regain independence after illness or hospital stays, as well as line-managing a team of Reablement Care Workers. You will deliver complex care, mentor staff, and ensure the team maintains high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Line-manage a team of Reablement Care Workers, providing supervision, training, and guidance.
- Support adults to regain or develop independent living skills through person-centred, strength-based care.
- Monitor and review cases, ensuring care remains appropriate and effective.
- Collaborate with the Locality Team Lead to maintain service quality and respond to enquiries.
- Maintain accurate records for staff and service users in line with policies and regulations.
- Mentor staff, helping them overcome barriers, including technology challenges.
- Keep skills and registration up to date with Social Care Wales.
Key Requirements
- QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
- Registered with Social Care Wales
- Experience working with older people and/or individuals with disabilities
- Experience in line management or supervision within a regulated care setting
- Knowledge of CIW Standards, Health & Safety, and safeguarding procedures
- Strong communication, mentoring, and teamworking skills
- Flexible and able to work evenings and weekends as required
- Full driving licence with access to a car.
Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
Pay Rate: £16-£21 (Negotiable DOE)
Working pattern - 37 hours per week
