Job description

Take the lead with hands-on conservation projects in rugged, remote, and remarkable places. Salary: $68,878 to $87,265, with DOC rental accommodation available. Permanent, full-time role in Franz Josef. Our vision: Nature is thriving in Aotearoa | Te Oranga o te Ao Tūroa Mō te tūranga | About the role With support from the Principal Ranger, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day delivery of the work programme and take responsibility for delivering back‑country and front‑country heritage and visitor maintenance projects. You will be responsible for leading a team of rangers and contractors to achieve project outcomes, while also ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
