Quantity Surveyor

Description We currently have an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice team. Reporting to Performance Manager, you'll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services. Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice that proactively manages and delivers to the national portfolio of facilities across New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality outcomes that support our essential services. Key Responsibilities: • Provide quantity surveying services to support the delivery of capital projects, maintenance and repairs, and other initiatives. • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams. • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery. • Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other documentation as required. • Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects and initiatives. • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation. • Contribute to the development of departmental strategies, policies, and procedures. • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance processes and services. The Ideal Candidate: • Has a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field. • Has at least 3 years' experience in quantity surveying or a related field. • Has excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. • Is able to work independently and as part of a team. • Has knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. • Has experience with project management software and tools.
