Quality technician

Job description

Req ID:485065

We at Alstom understand transportation networks and what drives people. From high-speed trains, metro, monorails, and trams to systems, services, infrastructure, signaling, and digital mobility key in hand, we offer our diverse clients the industry's broadest portfolio. Every day, 80,000 workers lead the way towards a more ecological and intelligent mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon emissions and replace cars.

Could you be the Quality Technician for the Car Body Shop in Barcelona that we are looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your quality experience to a cutting-edge field. You will work alongside young and proactive team members.

You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of products and parts manufactured within Alstom. On a daily basis, you will work closely with teams across the company (production), performing inspections, verifications, tests, and sampling procedures according to applicable instructions on ready-to-deliver products and during their manufacturing process in accordance with project control plans and internal procedures (highlighting special processes), and much more.

You will specifically be responsible for evaluating the measurement system to reduce times and analyzing results through root cause analysis.

We are looking for you:

  • To perform inspections and ensure product conformity (verification after rework).
  • To measure dimensional parts using laser/scanner equipment.
  • To conduct destructive and non-destructive tests when necessary.
  • To control the correct calibration of critical instruments used in inspections.
  • To analyze, study, and investigate quality defects or process problems (root cause analysis of defects found), including welding process defects.

About you

We value passion and attitude over experience. So we don't expect you to have all the skills. Instead, we've listed some that we believe will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Tech training.
  • Tech knowledge of measurement equipment.
  • Moderate English level.
  • 1-2 years of experience in quality inspection in the industrial sector.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and root cause analysis of defects.
  • Deseable to have knowledge of the railway sector.

What we offer

Join us on a transformative journey for life: the rail industry has arrived to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You will also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from daily routine.
  • Work with cutting-edge rolling stock projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and helpful colleagues.
  • Contribute to innovative projects.
  • Use our cooperative work environment.
  • Direct your career in any direction you choose across all functions and countries.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through a rewarding learning program.
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic compensation package that recognizes your performance and potential.

We don't need you to be an enthusiastic train fan to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you ride one of our trains with friends or family, you'll be proud. If you're ready for the challenge, we'd love to hear from you!
