Job description

At Crisp, we want to make better food accessible to more people. This starts with food you can trust: safe, hygienic, and always as good as we promise. That's why you ensure that quality, hygiene, and food safety on the production floor are correct every day. You are our eyes and ears on the floor. The foundation is solid: HACCP, quality, and specification management are in order. You ensure that practice aligns with this daily and you make adjustments where necessary. You will be found a lot on the production floor for checks and to verify processes. Occasionally, you will be in our own lab for experiments and tests.

What makes this role so enjoyable? You have a direct impact on our product and you are always close to it. If something is amiss with quality, you are the point of contact for production. You handle complaints thoroughly and seek practical solutions.

What you will do

  • You conduct daily quality and hygiene rounds on the production floor. You check if colleagues adhere to work methods and quality standards.

  • You take samples and perform quick product tests and measurements, such as pH and temperature. You also check incoming raw materials and purchased items.

  • You carry out targeted control and test programs on taste, microbiology, chemistry, physical properties, and allergens, for processes, raw materials, and final products.

  • You coordinate and interpret laboratory studies (M/C/F/A) and conduct shelf-life studies.

  • You coordinate and implement taste tests and tastings.

  • You thoroughly investigate customer complaints about products. You dive into production, ascertain where things went wrong, and secure the solution.

  • You ensure the correct application of our fixed product specifications and labeling requirements during production.

  • You check, test, and calibrate measuring and weighing equipment.

  • You address production employees, coach them, and provide short, practical training sessions and instructions, for example, on hygiene and allergens. This is how we elevate the food safety culture to a higher level every day.

  • Depending on your ambitions and experience, there is room to contribute to product development, visit suppliers to test raw materials at the source, assist with purchasing and hygiene management, and support quality in the warehouse and logistics.

This is you

  • You are practical and visible. You don't like sitting at a desk all day. You are at your best on the production floor.

  • You are a good communicator and coach. You explain quality rules clearly and address colleagues in a pleasant, constructive manner if someone doesn't adhere to them.

  • You are critical and accurate. You pay attention to detail, look critically at the process, and don't settle for half measures.

  • You are self-reliant and solution-oriented. You take initiative, know who to contact, and keep your promises.

  • You are flexible. Does your day on the floor take a different turn due to a quality issue or an urgent complaint? Then you switch gears quickly and adjust your priorities.

  • You have at least MBO+/HBO work and intellectual capacity.

  • You have solid basic knowledge of food (microbiology, chemistry, and allergens). You know how cross-contamination works and can interpret lab results.

  • You are familiar with the basics of HACCP, the hygiene code, general food legislation, and GFSI standards, such as BRCGS, IFS, or FSSC 22000.

  • Nice to have: a degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a similar field.

What we offer

  • Working at a B Corp certified company, where you get the chance to make your mark on the European food system.

  • 27 vacation days to recover and recharge.

  • An extra day off per year to volunteer and do something good.

  • Attention to your mental health with online support from recognized psychologists via OpenUp.

  • A perfect pension for the future via BPFL.

  • Every month, food for thought, with workshops and talks via Crisp University.

  • Regular tastings or workshops at the office or at one of our suppliers, to see how our most delicious products are made – and of course, to taste them too.

  • A comprehensive, organized lunch at the office every day.

  • Enthusiastic, smart colleagues and time to get to know each other during sports, events, and tastings.

  • And... a significant discount on your Crisp groceries, because you want to eat well at home too.
