Quality Engineer

DURA Automotive Romania is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality solutions for our automotive projects.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Education: University degree in Engineering or another technical field, but it is not a mandatory requirement..

Experience: Minimum 3 years of previous experience as Quality Engineer in production within the automotive industry.

Technical knowledge:

• Strong understanding of incoming inspection processes and quality standards.
• Familiarity with IMDS (International Material Data System) for material compliance.
• Knowledge of material certificates and supplier requalification processes.
• Good command of statistical tools and methods (SPC and MSA, scrap analysis, defect catalogues).
• Experience with 8D methodology and supplier claims management.
• Practical experience with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management standards

Responsibilities will include:

Incoming inspection & documentation – performing and updating incoming inspections, preparing specific instructions, and maintaining reports/statistics (X-bar, defect catalogues).

Supplier relations – managing quality issues and supplier claims (8D Global), reviewing material certificates and IMDS submissions, and coordinating annual requalification.

Material control – handling quarantined materials (both physical and system records) and monitoring supplier deliveries for compliance.

Analysis & reporting – conducting scrap analysis and reporting results to management and customers.

Engineering support – issuing quality alerts and supporting the engineering team in developing and standardizing new products through the quality management system.

IATF 16949 - Provide support and participate in internal and external audits when required
