Quality Assurance Engineer
Job description
You ensure that our products are delivered in top quality by systematically conducting manual and automated tests and developing these further. You work closely with software developers, the product owner, and other quality assurance engineers to guarantee reliable and high-quality software.
Tasks
Development and execution of manual and automated tests for new and existing features as well as software fixes
Identification, documentation, and tracking of software errors, along with clear and goal-oriented communication to software developers
Targeted use of modern AI tools to support the creation, optimization, and analysis of test conditions and other relevant artifacts
Use of Jira for systematic recording and categorization of defects based on probability of occurrence, damage extent, priority, and reproducibility
Execution of benchmark tests to evaluate software improvements or deteriorations
Documentation of test results (e.g., logs, screenshots) as well as capturing relevant test metrics
Closely working with testers to analyze error effects and with developers to identify error causes and verify defect fixes
Participation in daily and sprint meetings for communication of testing procedures and test results
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in the field of (Economic) Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a comparable field
Multiple years of professional experience in software quality assurance
Fundamental knowledge of software testing methods (black-box, white-box, and experience-based testing techniques) as well as functional and non-functional test types
Experience with task management and error tracking software like Jira, as well as knowledge management systems like Confluence
Experience with test frameworks like MSTest, Selenium, Cypress or similar tools would be advantageous
Experience in performance benchmarking and testing software under various environments and configurations
ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level or a comparable certification would be desirable
Outstanding analytical thinking and structured work approach
Good English and German language skills
