QSR Country Manager - DRC

THE OPPORTUNITY We are recruiting a Country Manager to join the Hungry Lion team in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) . The purpose of this role is to lead and grow the Hungry Lion business in‑country by driving operational excellence, ensuring brand standards, and delivering sustainable profitability through effective leadership, financial and market strategies. DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES Brand Standards & Customer Experience Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency in all aspects of the customer experience, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness. Ensure adherence to brand standards, including menu offerings, pricing, and visual merchandising. Proactively address customer feedback and complaints to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Operational Excellence Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, cost of goods sold (COGS), and labor costs, and take corrective actions as needed. Manage inventory levels effectively to minimize waste and ensure product availability. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Team Leadership Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team. Provide effective leadership and guidance to store managers and other employees. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and employee engagement. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to employees. Financial Management Develop and manage the country budget, ensuring financial targets are met. Analyze financial statements and identify areas for improvement. Implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability. Oversee cash management and banking relationships. Market Strategy & Business Development Develop and implement a market strategy to drive business growth and expansion. Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, including potential new store locations. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landlords, suppliers, and government officials. Monitor competitor activities and adjust strategies accordingly. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. Proven experience in a QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) or retail management role, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership position. Strong understanding of financial management and budgeting principles. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Proven ability to drive operational excellence and achieve financial targets.
