QA Lead

• Lay the foundation for the QA practice and team: define what quality means here and how we ensure it.
• Player-coach: perform hands-on testing and raise the team's bar in parallel.
• Introduce and track quality metrics.
• Introduce test automation where it matters most, pragmatically and gradually.
• Work together with the development team, as a partner, not as a gatekeeper at the end of the flow.
• Bring quality early in the process (shift-left), not just at the end.
• Work on the delivery plan together with the Project Manager to deliver at the quality agreed upon with clients.
• Communicate with the business to understand what correct means, not just what functional means.
• Make quality and risks visible: what we test, what we don't, where the gaps are.
• Coach developers on testing practices and ownership of quality.

• Solid hands-on QA experience, including test automation.
• Fluency in a modern stack (ideally .NET / Angular or equivalent), enough to read code and automate.
• Player-coach mentality: create and improve processes, don't just coordinate.
• Pragmatism on automation: start where it hurts, not where it's perfect.
• Close collaboration with development - partner, not adversary.
• Ability to coordinate the testing team not only based on the role's authority, but by being credible through actions and results.
• Orientation towards the structured use of genAI for test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks. We don't require prior experience, but it's a clear direction for us and a real advantage.
• Responsibility and initiative in the face of change and contexts with multiple stakeholders.
• Romanian and English, with technical terminology.

• Experience with CI/CD (ideally Azure DevOps).
• Performance, security, or API testing.
• Exposure to fintech/insurtech.
• Experience in introducing a QA function where none existed.

• Real ownership: you define the QA practice, from scratch.
• Stay connected to the technical side, don't just do management.
• Visible impact in a small team, close to the decision-making layer.
