QA Engineer (App Team) (m/f/d)
Job description
You don't look for bugs, you hunt down the cause? You don't see quality assurance as the last hurdle before the release, but as an integral part of the development process. We are looking for a technical QA engineer who will take our app team to the next level in terms of quality. As a new member of our app team, you will drive our development in the area of ticket validation and mobile ticket sales. The app team is one of our self-organized domain teams of ticket i/O IT, who work on online ticketing for events. It currently consists of 4 people, including a tech lead and a product owner.

We combine the many years of experience from the event, leisure, sports and trade fair sectors with the best technology to create an intuitive software solution. Since 2014, around 80 employees have been working with great commitment to ensure a smooth process before, during and after an event.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of comprehensive test concepts and quality characteristics to ensure software quality
- Recording, reproduction and documentation of bug reports
- Planning, execution and evaluation of automated and manual tests to ensure the stability and performance of our products
- Technical sparring partner - you act as a sparring partner for the developers, help with the implementation of test frameworks and improve the quality of white-box tests
- Automation of tests
- Unit tests (e.g. XCTest, kotlin-test)
- UI tests (e.g. PlayWright, Appium)
- Use case tests using BDD/Gherkin
- Regression Suites
- Smoke Tests
- With tools like Sentry, Crashlytics and Xcode Console, you get to the bottom of crashes and memory leaks
- Process optimization of our CI/CD pipeline - you help us integrate test execution directly into our build processes so that quality is measurable and releases are faster
Qualifications
- You enjoy working in agile teams and work self-organized and independently
- You know common test methodologies (White & Blackbox tests)
- Creation of test strategies for mobile apps based on BDD (Behavior Driven Development)
- Derivation of test cases based on requirements, designs and user stories
- Usability and accessibility tests according to iOS/Android guidelines
- Knowledge of typical mobile problems
- App Store processes
- Screen Sizes
- Network dependencies / Offline mode
- You can read and understand code in the area of app development (Swift, Kotlin) and ideally also find your way around web technologies (React, Symfony)
- You move securely in Git, are familiar with REST APIs (Postman) and understand modern auth concepts (OAuth/JWT)
- You are inquisitive and are not afraid to learn more technologies and methods
- You speak fluent English and good German (at least B2)
