Role Description The specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining automated data collection systems using Python, focusing on web scraping and data extraction. This role requires a strong understanding of web technologies, data formats, and ethical data collection practices. Responsibilities: * Design, develop, and maintain web scraping scripts using Python and related libraries (e.g., Scrapy, Beautiful Soup). * Implement automated data extraction and transformation pipelines. * Monitor and troubleshoot web scraping processes to ensure data quality and system stability. * Analyze websites to identify data sources and develop scraping strategies. * Adhere to ethical web scraping practices, including respecting robots.txt and avoiding disruption of website operations. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and integrate scraped data into existing systems. * Stay up-to-date with the latest web scraping techniques and best practices. * Document code and processes clearly and concisely. * Conduct data validation and cleansing to ensure data accuracy. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. * Proven experience in web scraping and data extraction using Python. * Strong proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., Scrapy, Beautiful Soup, Requests). * Experience with data manipulation and analysis using libraries like Pandas. * Understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP protocols. * Familiarity with databases and data storage solutions. * Knowledge of ethical web scraping practices and legal considerations. * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. * Strong communication and teamwork skills. * Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
