The Psychological Service for Children and Adolescents of Biel / Bernese Jura is looking for a school psychologist / educational counselor starting October 1, 2026. The position is currently limited to, with an option for permanent employment.
Your Tasks
As part of your consultation at the Psychological Service for Children and Adolescents, you will conduct psychological assessments of children and adolescents, taking into account their educational, pedagogical, and social context. You will conduct interviews and psychotherapeutic follow-ups with children, adolescents, and their families. In your counseling activities, you will support parents, professionals, authorities, or institutions involved in education or training. In this regard, you will collaborate more closely with schools, teachers, special education teachers, and the medical-psychological and social network. You will write reports for school authorities, as well as expert opinions for judicial authorities in the field of child protection.
Your Profile
You hold an academic degree or equivalent in psychology (Master's level) with experience in the field of child clinical psychology and, ideally, psychotherapeutic training. You possess the diploma of educational counselor-school psychologist from the Canton of Bern or equivalent training in the field of education or school psychology. You have an interest in schools and special education environments. You are interested in collaborating with the professional network for children, and you can work independently but cooperatively within a small team. You are proficient in basic computer skills. A good level of German would be desirable (ideally B2).

The cantonal Psychological Service for Children and Adolescents supports and advises parents, children, and adolescents, as well as individuals and institutions responsible for the education and training of children and adolescents, to help them resolve issues and problems related to development, education, and schooling, from the early years of life to the end of secondary education II.
