Job description
SurgeAero develops high-performance propulsion systems and UAV platforms for the next generation of unmanned aerial vehicles. We combine innovative aerospace technology with a fast-paced, practice-oriented startup culture and develop products that convince under real operating conditions. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a motor assembly and testing technician who will accompany our motors from assembly to release.
Your Mission
You assemble, test, and inspect the two-stroke engines that power our UAVs. From precise assembly to test runs on test stands, you ensure that each engine operates reliably and meets high quality standards. Your work is crucial for ensuring that our propulsion systems are safe and performant in flight operations.
Tasks
- Assembly of two-stroke engines according to technical drawings, instructions, and torque specifications.
- Preliminary preparation and instrumentation of motors for test runs, as well as the conduct of intake, function, and performance tests.
- Setup of sensors and data acquisition, as well as documentation of test results.
- Diagnostics, fault analysis, repair, and overhaul of engines, including fuel systems, ignition, cooling, and other components.
- Performance of maintenance work, inspections, and release tests.
- Careful documentation of assembly, testing, and maintenance work for complete traceability.
- Tight collaboration with engineering to analyze recurring problems and continuous improvement of our products.
Qualification
Completed technical training or equivalent practical experience, such as automotive or engine mechanic, mechatronics engineer, or industrial mechanic.
- Experience in the assembly, maintenance, or repair of internal combustion engines.
- Understanding of two-stroke engines or similar propulsion systems and their functionality.
- Safe handling of technical drawings, measuring instruments, and torque tools.
- Structured, meticulous, and quality-oriented work approach.
- Teamwork skills and a high sense of responsibility.
- Good German or English language skills.
Advantage
- Experience with UAV, RC, or model aircraft engines.
- Knowledge in motorsport, marine, or small engine technology.
- Experience with test stands, ECU systems, fuel injection, or data acquisition.
- Basic knowledge of quality management and technical documentation.
