The Opportunity
You’ll work across a broad range of property matters, from complex commercial transactions to large-scale developments. The role offers autonomy, strong client contact, and exposure to both private and institutional clients. Your Work Will Include
- Acting on residential, commercial, and development property transactions from end to end.
- Advising on subdivisions, easements, covenants, and unit title matters.
- Managing leasing portfolios for landlords and tenants across retail, office, and industrial spaces.
- Undertaking due diligence on acquisitions, disposals, and property portfolios.
- Drafting and negotiating contracts, agreements for sale and purchase, finance documents, and other key legal instruments.
- Providing strategic property advice and guidance on securities and financing arrangements.
- Building lasting client relationships and supporting junior team members where appropriate.
- A minimum of five years’ experience as a property lawyer in New Zealand.
- Strong technical expertise in NZ property law and related legislation.
- A proven record of managing complex transactions, leasing, and financing work.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiation skills.
- A pragmatic, collaborative style and the ability to manage relationships with ease.
