Project Manager STS Label Compass

The Swiss Animal Protection STS is the umbrella organization of 70 animal protection organizations from all linguistic regions of Switzerland and Liechtenstein. As the largest national animal protection organization, we are passionately committed to the welfare of pets, farm animals, and laboratory animals, based on scientifically sound principles.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated individual as

Project Manager STS Label Compass (80-100%)

who will help shape and further develop the Swiss Label Compass both technically and operationally.

You will take responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and evaluating work and measures related to the STS Label Compass. In doing so, you will combine expertise in animal welfare and agriculture with project management, digital affinity, and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Together with the Head of Animal Welfare Standards & Knowledge Management, you will further develop the platform technically and strategically, analyze relevant developments in the field of farm animals, and contribute to presenting animal welfare standards in an understandable and well-founded manner.

Your tasks

Manage and develop the STS Label Compass

• You will plan, manage, and evaluate work and measures related to the STS Label Compass.
• You will participate in the operational and strategic further development of the Swiss Label Compass platform.
• You will coordinate tasks, stakeholders, and technical input and ensure structured implementation.

Technically process animal welfare standards

• You will develop animal welfare standards in the area of farm animals.
• You will monitor relevant developments and issues in the farm animal sector, provide technical assessments, and create decision-making bases.
• You will process and coordinate internal and external technical inquiries within your area of responsibility.

Shape communication, networking, and collaboration

• You will contribute technically to communication measures, campaigns, position statements, and other STS activities.
• You will maintain and develop contacts with specialist organizations, authorities, labels, retailers, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
• You will participate in expert committees and represent STS upon agreement and on behalf of your superior.
• You will contribute to knowledge management and the technical further development of the Animal Welfare Standards & Knowledge Management team and the Animal Protection Competence Center.

What you bring

Technical profile

• University degree (BSc or MSc) in Agronomy, Animal Sciences, Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Food Sciences, or a comparable qualification
• Good knowledge of Swiss agriculture, especially in the field of animal sciences
• Knowledge of the Swiss food sector, particularly in the area of animal products
• Experience in project management and enjoyment of accompanying topics from planning to implementation in a structured manner
• Digital affinity and interest in the further development of a digital information platform
