AEE – Institute for Sustainable Technologies (AEE INTEC) is a leading non-university research institution in the field of applied research with thematic priorities in Buildings, Industrial Systems, as well as Cities and Grids and Technology Development. Around 90 employees from more than 15 nations work together at our site in Gleisdorf on concrete solutions for the energy transition.

The “Buildings” division works on future-proof solutions for new construction and renovation – from energy-efficient building concepts, building technology, and renewable energies to sustainable construction methods. The focus is on the development and implementation of practically applicable solutions for climate-neutral, affordable, and high-quality buildings.

To strengthen our team in the Buildings work area, we are looking for a
Project Manager Research – Simple Building (m/f/d)
(Part-time or Full-time)


  • Independent management and content-related processing of national and international research projects in the field of energy-efficient buildings with a focus on innovative, simple, and robust solutions for new construction and renovation
  • Coordination of complex, interdisciplinary research projects with multiple partner organizations from planning, construction industry, and research, as well as ensuring a structured, timely, and goal-oriented project execution
  • Presentation and publication of research results at national and international project meetings as well as technical conferences
  • Development of new project ideas, research questions, and the drafting of funding proposals in collaboration with internal and external partners

  • Successfully completed university (technical college/university) studies and qualifications, preferably in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, or a related discipline
  • Interest in the development and research of quality-assured, resource-efficient, and economically viable solutions for reduced, robust, and affordable construction and renovation
  • Good understanding of constructive contexts and interest in the planning and construction implementation of innovative building concepts
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in the fields of architecture or civil engineering as well as in project management
  • Experience in project acquisition and development is an advantage
  • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach as well as the ability to view complex contexts in a networked manner
  • Strong communication skills, team spirit, and enjoyment of collaboration in interdisciplinary project teams
  • Very good German and English language skills, both spoken and written
  • Enthusiasm for developing new solutions together with industry partners, critically evaluating them, and testing them under real conditions

  • Demanding and varied tasks in cooperative and application-oriented research projects whose results increase sustainability in the building sector

The collective agreement for non-university research applies to the advertised position. The minimum annual salary is € 57,000 gross (full-time). The actual classification depends on qualifications and experience.
