You know the situation: Substations that are not on the outskirts of the city but in the middle of the mountains. Access roads that are a challenge in themselves. Weather windows that dictate the construction schedule. It is precisely in this environment that we are looking for you.

For our client, an established Swiss energy supply company with a focus on operations in alpine, rural regions, we are looking for an experienced personality for the technical planning and project management of medium and high-voltage substations.

Responsibilities

What awaits you

• You will take responsibility for projects at substation facilities – from technical conception to successful commissioning
• You will plan and design systems, components, and concepts for new installations, conversions, and renewals in the medium and high-voltage range
• You will perform calculations and dimensioning and evaluate technical solution variants
• You will prepare tender documents, solicit quotes, and evaluate suppliers
• You will manage deadlines, costs, and interfaces and ensure a smooth project flow
• You will coordinate and lead project teams and external suppliers
• You will support approval procedures with the responsible authorities
• You will regularly be on-site – in valleys and mountain regions, not in an open-plan office

Qualifications

What you bring

• University degree or further education in electrical engineering (FH/HF/Uni) or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in the engineering of substation facilities as well as in managing projects in the field of energy distribution – ideally in topographically challenging terrain
• In-depth electrical engineering knowledge in the medium and high-voltage range, experience in control and protection technology is an advantage
• Fluent German, other languages are an advantage
• Interconnected thinking, independence, and a high degree of commitment
• Enjoy working where others go on holiday – and willingness to travel further for it
