You are an experienced engineer (m/w/d) in the field of HKLS / Tenant Expansion and looking for a new challenge in Berlin?

Tasks

  • You take on the role as Lead Designer or Project Lead (PL) and actively support all phases of project development.
  • You lead multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently even under tight deadlines.
  • You create high-quality mechanical building technology plans (HKLS) in performance phases LP2–LP8.
  • You plan, distribute, and monitor resources to ensure smooth project flows and good team support.
  • You represent Buro Happold independently in meetings with clients, architects, and external partners.
  • You work effectively with interdisciplinary teams – including colleagues at other locations.
  • You support the acquisition process by reviewing RFPs, preparing technical content, and participating in project presentations.
  • You bring your expertise to process optimization and drive positive changes within the team.
  • You support colleagues through mentoring, delegation, and professional guidance.
  • You lead or support mechanical or electrical planning and ensure strong interdisciplinary coordination.

Qualification

  • 8–10 years of experience in mechanical building technology (HKLS). HK - Experience is required.
  • Fundamental experience in performance phases LP2–LP8, as well as knowledge of interdisciplinary planning.
  • Experience in resource planning and management across various project teams.
  • Knowledge of Revit, Linear, MagiCAD, and Orca.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented work approach – you openly address challenges and bring possible solutions forward.
  • Experience in personnel leadership or direct mentoring, as well as interest in the further development of colleagues.
  • The ability to drive changes, improve processes, and co-create team organization.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English.
  • A secure handling of remote or international teams.
  • A strong understanding of interfaces between mechanical, electrical, and other trades.
  • Experience with projects in the commercial sector (advantageous but not mandatory).
