Project Cost Controller (m/w/d) with Focus on Project Controlling, Scheduling & Cost Control

Your Role

As Project Cost Controller (m/w/d), you will take on a central function in the project and cost controlling of a large investment project. You will support the project leadership and project teams in planning, controlling, and monitoring project costs, schedules, and economic key figures.

You will ensure that project budgets, scheduling plans, and reporting processes are transparent, traceable, and in line with company standards.

You will also make a significant contribution to risk analysis, the economic evaluation of technical solutions, and the further development of project control processes.

Your Tasks

Project Controlling & Cost Control

• Development, monitoring, and updating of project budgets and cost forecasts
• Implementation of should-be-is-actual comparisons and analysis of cost deviations
• Implementation of cost forecasts and economic analyses
• Development and implementation of suitable measures for cost and budget control
• Support of project leadership in budget planning and forecasting
• Ensuring compliance with budget guidelines and cost control processes
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

Scheduling & Project Control

• Development, maintenance, and monitoring of project scheduling plans
• Analysis of project progress compared to defined milestones
• Implementation of scheduling forecasts and identification of potential scheduling risks
• Integration of security aspects into project planning and scheduling
• Support of project teams in coordinating project-related activities

Reporting, Analysis & Earned Value Management

• Further development of project controlling and reporting structures
• Preparation of regular project reports on costs, progress, and risks
• Implementation of analyses on budget development, scheduling status, and project progress
• Application of methods like Earned Value Management for project control
• Presentation of project information for management and stakeholders

Risk Management & Economic Analyses

• Implementation of risk analyses in terms of costs and schedules
• Development and follow-up of suitable risk mitigation measures
• Evaluation of feasibility studies in terms of schedule and budget reality
• Economic evaluation of technical solutions considering their impact on costs and schedule

Contract, Procurement & Project Support

• Support in developing procurement and contract strategies
• Alignment of procurement activities with project planning and cost control
• Collaboration with internal project teams and external engineering and construction partners
• Ensuring a transparent information flow between project participants

Your Profile

• Completed degree in business administration, economics, engineering, or a comparable field
• Mult-year experience in project controlling, project management, or project controls, ideally in large investment projects (> 50 million EUR)
• Fundamental knowledge of cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scheduling
• Experience with project controlling methods such as Earned Value Management is advantageous
• Good knowledge of cost and scheduling control systems and Excel
• Outstanding analytical thinking and high numerical affinity
• Structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented working style
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work together with interdisciplinary project teams
• Very good German language skills and good English language skills in writing and speaking
