Job description

We are looking for you to join our Finance Team at EDUCATION Y as a Project Controller*in / Funding Manager*in (in NRW or remote), starting as soon as possible, 20–40 hours per week, initially for 2 years with the option of extension.

As a non-profit organization, we have the task of using our financial resources wisely and sustainably to achieve long-term impact.

Tasks

  • Administrative, financial, and grant management support as well as project processing for ongoing third-party funded projects (EU, federal, state)
  • Independent accounting of funding and preparation, review, and processing of intermediate and final reports, financial plans, payment requests, and change applications
  • Support and guidance for the approved projects throughout their entire duration
  • In-depth project controlling including monitoring of deviations from planned budgets, budget planning, provision of funds, budget control, and verification of fund usage
  • Counseling of project leaders on specific and budgetary questions regarding the management of funding
  • Communication and coordination with consortium partners, funding agencies, and internal interfaces

Qualification

This is you:

  • A completed degree in economics or administration (BWL, Public Management, Economics, Administration, etc.) or a completed vocational training in accounting or taxation with additional business administration training (Fachwirt, etc.)
  • Multiple years of experience in the administration and accounting of large publicly funded project funding, particularly EU funding
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application experience in grant, administrative, budgetary, and procurement law
  • Excellent German and English language skills
  • A meticulous, structured working style as well as teamwork and reliability
