Project Engineer (m/w/d) Offshore Platforms

The Research and Development Center Fachhochschule Kiel GmbH, a subsidiary of the University of Applied Sciences Kiel, conducts approximately 150 projects per year for private and public clients. For the Marine Technologies department, we are looking for a full-time Project Engineer (m/w/d) Offshore Platforms.

Tasks

You can expect in our FINO team:

• Responsibility for electrical systems and equipment of low voltage as well as other systems (energy supply, building automation, data networks etc.) on a research platform
• The planning and leadership of offshore deployments (including helicopter transfers) as well as the organization and implementation of maintenance, repairs and testing on the platform including the commissioning and coordination of contractors
• Installation, testing and calibration of measurement, control and regulation technology
• Data recording and evaluation, handling data streams and databases
• The technical review of new scientific projects and support and guidance for research partners
• The documentation obligations related to your tasks as well as the support of the tasks of the superior safety management

Qualification

You bring with you:

• A qualification as an electrician and a completed university degree in engineering, a completed vocational training is advantageous
• Knowledge and experience in operating electrical systems, network/ distribution technology, measurement technology, sensorics and data processing
• Sea- and height-fitness (including health certificate G41, can be submitted later)
• Prior knowledge of offshore experiences and corresponding safety training is advantageous
• Readiness for smaller trips, e.g. for deployments and participation in safety trainings
• Independent, structured and coordinated working style, good analytical skills, communication strength and strong team orientation
• Craftsmanship, physical endurance and willingness to perform assembly, maintenance and testing work under possibly difficult conditions (e.g. weather, height, offshore logistics)
• Good German and English language skills (technical documentation, communication with international project partners)
• A high sense of responsibility, independent working style, team ability, safety and quality awareness

The position with a working time of 40 hours per week offers a high degree of freedom. It is to be filled immediately and initially until 30.09.2028.

A further extension is planned. The remuneration will take place in accordance with TVL, depending on qualifications, an allocation up to EG13 is possible.
