Road Construction Project Organizer

What if you could keep multiple road construction projects running simultaneously – from tender to completion – and truly make a difference for the client?

As a Road Construction Project Organizer, you will work on projects in the regions of Bergen op Zoom, Etten-Leur, Breda, and Gorinchem. And besides the project locations, no two days are the same: from reconstructions and asphalt maintenance to the realization of entirely new roads. You are at the heart of the project and ensure that everything is correct – technically, organizationally, and financially.

Your mission

As a Project Organizer, you are the right-hand person of the project leader and ensure that the project runs smoothly. From pricing to execution, you maintain oversight and ensure everyone knows what needs to be done. You deal with different components within a project and ensure that everything aligns well. You continuously switch between fieldwork and office work, ensuring that preparation and execution seamlessly blend into each other.

Your activities:

• You organize and coordinate multiple road construction projects (starting from approx. €1 million)
• You prepare schedules, work plans, progress reports, and procurement overviews
• You arrange procurement and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers
• You monitor the progress, costs, and quality of your projects
• You collaborate with the client and translate challenges into practical solutions
• You work with contract forms such as RAW and EMVI (often together with external parties)
• You liaise with the project leader regarding risks, choices, and escalations

Your work environment

You will be placed within the Local Projects department, with Breda as your official office location. In practice, you will mainly work on projects in your own region. You will collaborate with colleagues from various BAM divisions, such as BAM Civiel, BAM Verkeerstechniek, and BAM Energie en Water, where you will maintain oversight and ensure everything aligns correctly.

You are part of a compact and committed Brabant project team, where hard work is done and the atmosphere is good. No hassle: short lines of communication, pulling together to get the job done. At the same time, there is room for humor and conviviality. We work closely with regional SMEs such as earthmoving companies and subcontractors.

The project leader is your sparring partner and supports you in your development. You will be given the space to work independently and take ownership, but you are never alone.

What do you bring?

At BAM Infra Wegen, we undertake various types of work with the goal of improving infrastructure. Each type of project requires its own approach. Therefore, it is important that you, as a project organizer, possess the following:

• You have a Bachelor's (HBO) or Master's (WO) level of work and thinking and an educational background in civil engineering, infrastructure, or civil technology;
• You have a Bachelor's (HBO) or Master's (WO) level of work and thinking with a background in infrastructure/civil technology (minimum MBO 4) and 2-5 years of experience in road construction
• You have experience with projects in asphalt, paving, and reconstructions and are familiar with the practical aspects from the inside out
• You are strong in planning and organizing, and can easily switch between multiple projects and involved parties
• You communicate clearly, are straightforward, and know how to involve parties and maintain oversight
• You show ownership, think in solutions, and take charge when necessary
