Project Manager Ukrainian Refugee Reception

Job description

For ABG organization, we are looking for a Project Manager Ukrainian Refugee Reception. You will work as an experienced and proactive project manager to coordinate the reception of Ukrainian refugees for the municipality of Alphen-Chaam. You will lead the reception, coordinate the procurement, contract suppliers, and closely collaborate with the municipal government. In addition to the reception, you will also take into account the reconstruction of the adjacent parking lot in the heart of Alphen. Tasks and responsibilities
Steering and coordination:
  • You give direction to the project team and monitor the progress of all project activities.
  • You ensure efficient and effective use of resources and capacity.
  • You set up a project plan and monitor planning, budget, and perform risk analyses.

Purchasing and contracting:
  • You prepare clear and concrete procurement documents for various suppliers, such as housing, care, and well-being.
  • You evaluate submitted tenders and advise on the awarding.
  • You set up contracts with suppliers and manage them.

Alignment and communication:
  • You maintain close contact with the municipal government and other relevant stakeholders.
  • You report regularly on progress, bottlenecks, and solutions.
  • You facilitate consultation structures and working groups.
  • You ensure clear and timely communication to all involved parties.

Risk management:
  • You identify and analyze potential risks within the project.
  • You set up mitigating measures and monitor their effectiveness.

Communication and participation:
  • You inform the community about developments regarding Ukrainian refugee reception.
  • You involve residents and other stakeholders in the process.

Your profile
  • You have an HBO or WO level education, preferably with a completed degree in project management or a related field.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar function, preferably within a municipal organization.
  • You possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • You have experience setting up and evaluating contracts.
  • Knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations regarding refugee reception is an asset.
  • You have experience with risk management.
  • You are flexible, stress-resistant, and able to work in a dynamic environment.
  • You possess analytical skills and work solution-oriented.
  • You master the Dutch language exceptionally well, both verbally and written.
  • Knowledge of the Ukrainian language and culture is an asset.
