Job description
Job Title: Project Manager Design and Construction
Recruiter: Daniëlle Bijsterbosch
Vacancy ID: 4421
Project Manager Design and Construction Projects Team
For our Projects team, we are looking for a new colleague. As a water supplier to almost six million customers, we are continuously engaged in renewing, expanding, and renovating our drinking water infrastructure. Part of this is underground, but we also have important installations above ground. Within the Projects team, you will lead renovation and new construction projects for (parts of) modern purification plants and related installations such as storage tanks. The projects you will lead in this role have a financial scope of up to approximately 20 million euros. You will collaborate in diverse project teams, which you will manage and encourage to work independently and results-oriented with our internal and external project partners. No two days are the same, and you will contribute to something important: Winning, purifying, and delivering 1 billion liters of top-quality drinking water every day. Every drop counts!
What you will be working on
Vitens possesses extensive knowledge of water infrastructure, enabling us to take a leading role in our projects without difficulty. As a project manager, you will make optimal use of the expertise of our own engineers, the planners from the Asset Management department (your internal client), and the technical specialists from the Network Management & Delivery and Winning & Purification departments. Additionally, you will always strive to collaborate as much as possible with our project partners: external engineering firms, suppliers, and construction companies.
Your concrete tasks include:
-
Project control on aspects of time, budget, and scope;
-
Analysis of project risks and timely intervention to contain them;
-
Leading effective project teams, fostering independence;
-
Motivating, coaching, and, if necessary, addressing team members regarding the quality of their contribution;
-
Representing your projects to the internal organization.
What do you bring?
We are most curious about who you are and what you can do. It is important that you are yourself and bring humor, flexibility, and at the same time, steadfastness. Furthermore, we expect you to bring the following:
-
A minimum of 7 years of experience in managing multidisciplinary, infrastructural projects.
-
Knowledge of working in accordance with Prince2.
-
IPMA C certification and knowledge of drinking water processes would complete the picture, but are not a requirement.
This is how we take care of you
For this position, you can count on the following employment conditions (based on 40 hours per week):
-
Up to € 6,499.00 gross per month (scale 11, according to the Collective Labor Agreement for Water Companies).
-
Flexible Benefits Budget (FAB) of 16.51% on top of your salary. This budget includes, among other things, your holiday pay and year-end bonus.
-
31.5 vacation days.
-
Opportunities for flexible working, at home and at Vitens offices in locations such as Zwolle, Leeuwarden, Arnhem, and Utrecht. Your designated office location will be discussed.
-
Opportunity to utilize your expertise for drinking water projects in developing countries.
