Project Leader Civil Engineering

As a Project Leader Civil Engineering in Antwerp, you will lead one or more civil engineering projects within an industrial environment. You are responsible for the safe, qualitative, and profitable execution from start-up to handover, with a strong focus on planning, coordination, and follow-up. In this role, you combine technical insight with people management and are given the space to actively contribute to the further growth of civil engineering activities.

You will work closely with site managers, foremen, internal departments, clients, and external partners. In doing so, you will not only monitor the daily progress on the construction site but also the financial and organizational aspects of each project. You will report to the Operations Manager and have the opportunity to help shape a department with clear ambitions.

Your responsibilities:

• Organizing, coordinating, and managing civil engineering projects from preparation to handover
• Monitoring planning, budget, quality, and safety within each project
• Ensuring correct financial follow-up of costs, revenues, and profitability
• Maintaining contact with clients and actively monitoring project progress
• Managing site managers and foremen and ensuring smooth collaboration on the construction site
• Conducting performance and evaluation interviews and identifying training needs
• Overseeing compliance with HSE procedures and quality guidelines
• Participating in order follow-up meetings and reporting on results and risks in a timely manner
• Detecting market opportunities and contributing to the further development of civil engineering activities
• Supporting the analysis and preparation of public tenders

For this position, we are looking for a motivated project leader with a strong foundation in civil engineering works and the ambition to grow further in an industrial context. You are someone who maintains an overview, dares to make decisions, and gets energy from leading people and projects. Experience in the sector is a big asset, but candidates with a solid technical background and initial relevant practical experience are also considered.

Your profile:

• You hold a degree in Industrial Engineering Construction, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent level acquired through experience
• You preferably have experience in civil engineering works; experience in an industrial environment is a strong plus
• You are highly organized and can effectively coordinate various stakeholders
• You possess clear leadership and communication skills
• You pay attention to safety, quality, environment, and profitability in everything you do
• You are a people manager who knows how to motivate and support employees
• You handle financial responsibility and project follow-up with care
• You work in a structured manner, take initiative, and feel responsible for the end result
• You possess VCA-VOL certification or are willing to obtain it in the short term
• You are proficient with MS Office
• Experience with or interest in public tenders is an asset
• You speak fluent Dutch and have a good command of English
