Job description

For City of Amsterdam, we are looking for a Project Leader Labor Market. The city of Amsterdam has the ambition to let labor migrants participate fully. Through the Approach Labor Migration Region Amsterdam, the preconditions are created that allow labor migrants to work, live and thrive in the city. The city is also working on the economy of the future and the desired position of labor migration within it. As a project leader, you will contribute to improving the labor market position of labor migrants and making better use of their potential for the local and regional economy. There is specific attention to good employer practices and preventing and reporting of irregularities. You develop a report with findings and perform the following tasks with concrete results agreements:
  • With employers, organized business life, trade unions, regional municipalities and other stakeholders, you explore a 'Coalition for Good Employer Practices' at the level of the Metropolitan Region Amsterdam (MRA).
  • You investigate together with employers and the project leader communication/registration the possibility of group registration in the BRP to organize.
  • You look together with the city, region and MRA into the possibilities for temporary housing locations for labor migrants to realize.
  • With the Regional Work Center (RWC), adult education of the City of Amsterdam and employers, you explore the need for a pilot language development that is suitable for labor migrants and supplementary to existing offers.
  • You research together with the RWC into the possibilities to direct labor migrants towards good jobs in shortage sectors and look at options for training professionals in employment services, so they can recognize and report irregularities.
During your work, you identify synergy opportunities for other newcomer groups. You regularly check back on the progress of the Arbeidsmigratie working group and the Governance Group Labor Migration. You work towards a report with findings on the above points. Based on this report, concrete agreements and implementation plans can be made in the follow-up phase. Competencies

Organization City organization The city organization consists of 5 clusters, a board and staff, 7 districts and 1 neighborhood. The districts govern together with the council, mayor and aldermen the city of Amsterdam. The 5 clusters are: Space and Economy, Social, Urban Management, Business Operations, Digitalization, Innovation and Information. The clusters have expertise in a specific area, such as sports, youth or parking. They work out policy into city-wide frameworks within which the districts can carry out their tasks. They also provide direct support to residents who need it, for example in terms of participation or employment. The districts are responsible for the layout of streets and squares, green spaces and well-being in the neighborhood. They ensure that what they do fits the needs of their district and the policy for the entire city. You will start as a project leader within Cluster Social, Department Work Participation and Income. You are result-oriented, work well together with various stakeholders, and are able to analyze complex issues and report on them. You know how to keep an overview, communicate clearly and dare to take the initiative. You recognize yourself in an environment where interests can diverge and know how to professionally and connectively act.
