What you will do

What do you do as a Project Coordinator?
As a Project Coordinator, you are responsible for the coordination of maintenance projects and infrastructure needs and for requesting infrastructural adjustments. What exactly is your role.

1) You ensure the coordination of maintenance and renovation projects by:

• gathering and drafting the needs statement;
• coordinating with the user and elaborating the plans;
• ensuring support during the execution phase;
• managing the handover and commissioning;
• processing the various financial aspects of maintenance/renovation;
• carrying out administrative support tasks and coordinating parts of the maintenance program (painting, replacement projects) for the department;
• auditing and evaluating executed and delivered maintenance for quality and efficiency;
• participating in infrastructure research to eliminate deficiencies and bottlenecks;
• supporting the Infra Officer on larger projects (support capacity, coordination of access and management, inventories);
• acting as a coordinator regarding the execution of maintenance and providing advisory services to users.

2) You ensure the planning by:

• reviewing, scheduling, and adjusting support requests and processing these requests into assignments;
• registering visitors so they have access to the airbase;
• creating an overview of which external infrastructure-related companies are present at the airbase;
• providing and keeping the guidance instruction up-to-date;
• acting as an intermediary between the department and external agencies in relation to guidance activities;
• supervising the work of guidance staff.

What we ask

• At least a completed MBO 4 education, preferably in the direction of construction or a comparable technical education;
• Experience or affinity with working in projects;
• Knowledge of the Office Suite;
• Good command of the Dutch language, both written and oral;
• You are assertive, communicative, and can plan well;
• Affinity with Defense is a plus

Your work environment at the DHC:
The Defense Helicopter Command (DHC) is part of the Air and Space Forces Command (CLRS). This command trains daily with helicopters to contribute globally to peace, freedom, and security. The DHC is responsible for the deployment of 79 helicopters for the entire Defense from the following airbases: Gilze-Rijen Airbase, Maritiem Vliegkamp De Kooy in Den Helder, Deelen Airbase, and Fort Hood in Texas. The DHC collaborates with partners within the entire defense organization, civilian government organizations, and regularly contributes to UN and NATO missions. Additionally, the DHC contributes to several important national tasks such as counter-terrorism and aerial firefighting. In total, approximately 2100 employees (civilians and military personnel) work at the DHC.

You will work in a close-knit team of four people in total in the Bureau Infrastructure Management (BIB) department, which handles all matters concerning the infrastructure at the airbase. You will work with an Infra Officer and two supervisors.
