Vattenfall is a Swedish organization that has existed for more than 100 years. We are the largest energy supplier in Northwest Europe. We supply energy to around 7 million customers. Our ambition is to make it possible to live without fossil fuels in the future.

Within Vattenfall Heat NL, the Business Stadswarmte provides sustainable heat and cold to a growing number of companies and individuals. For example, by using industrial waste heat and local cold sources (such as lakes) we can provide our customers with maximum comfort and make a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions.

Our organization is building district heating networks and installations on new construction sites and is increasingly being invited to participate in renovation projects that provide environmentally friendly energy.

What will you do?

As Project Manager Stadswarmte, you will realize heat networks and connections so that Vattenfall can supply its new customers with heat. In your portfolio, there are multiple projects in the Amsterdam/Almere region, each at a different stage. Your focus is on safety, planning, finance, communication, and quality.

Examples of projects:

• In Amsterdam, we are working on the first area-based approach in the Netherlands by connecting an entire area to district heat. These projects are a mix of different types of customers: social rent, private ownership, and SMEs.
• Expansion of our existing infrastructure based on new innovative power concepts such as Hybrid WKO, Geothermie, and data centers.

You will provide guidance to various project teams with contractors, preparatory workers, and site supervisors. Stakeholder management comes easily to you. Due to our area-based approach, you will be dealing with many external parties, think of municipalities (licensing authorities, area developers, supervisory bodies), engineering bureaus, NUTS parties, resident committees, and other interest groups. You are aware of the different perspectives and financial interests.

You are uniquely able to bring parties together and connect them, set a course, and get people on board towards a common goal. During this trajectory, you anticipate potential bottlenecks in time and inform the client about key points.

Finally, you will pick up internal improvement projects to get all project members to a higher professional level and keep them there. Of course, you will perform all work according to safety, arbo- and environmental care, so that optimal working conditions arise.
