The Civil & Infrastructure team at McMahon Services has secured some of the most significant and exciting projects in Adelaide and across the state, and you'll play a vital role in delivering them.

About the Opportunity

This isn't just a managing role; it's a chance to build your expertise on major civil works, including road construction and rehabilitation. As a Project Manager, you’ll report to the Construction Manager, and you will be responsible for strategically managing and delivering assigned projects from contract award through to execution and close-out on time and within budget. This is a hands-on role that will see you involved in all aspects of project delivery, from team management to financial oversight, gaining invaluable experience with a supportive and collaborative team.

The ideal candidate will have up to 5 years of experience in the civil infrastructure space and be willing to work across Adelaide metro and regional South Australia project areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Monitor progress reports, adjust resourcing, and implement business process improvements.
• Commercial, Procurement & Contract Management: Drive and support contracts management, review and approve RFI submissions, variations, EOTs, and progress claims.
• Team Management: Lead and manage the project team, conducting project reviews and creating detailed reports for senior management.
• Financial Management: Review cost control against budget, monitor project cash flow, and manage payments from customers.
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors and ensure site compliance with industrial relations requirements.

Key Skills & Experience

To excel in this job, you'll be a proactive professional with a strong work ethic.

• Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering and/or Project Management.
• Up to 5 years of proven experience in major construction/infrastructure project delivery, preferably in civil engineering.
• Strong experience in contract administration and management.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, can-do attitude.
• Solid knowledge of the engineering industry and Australian Standards.
• Proficiency in project management software, ERP systems, and project management platforms.
