Project Manager (m/w/d)
Job description
Welcome to Terra One – a rapidly growing and innovative company dedicated to building the future of renewable energies. Our mission is to make the world a better place by driving sustainable energy solutions forward and paving the way for climate neutrality. We believe that this can only be achieved with the strength of a diverse and inclusive team.
Terra One accelerates the development and implementation of innovative energy infrastructure solutions, focusing initially on battery storage systems as a key component for a flexible, reliable, and environmentally friendly power grid.
By providing energy exactly when it is needed, we contribute to the stability and efficiency of the power grid while reducing CO2 emissions.
An additional central aspect of our mission is our KI-based energy trading system on European energy markets, which is closely linked with our battery storage solutions.
We are looking for Project Managers who will be responsible for the complete implementation of our medium-voltage and co-location battery storage pipeline. In this role, you will take full commercial and technical responsibility for multiple projects and steer them from the Ready-to-Build (RTB) phase to Energization and Commercial Operation Date (COD).
This position offers an outstanding opportunity for Project Managers and project engineers from the solar and wind energy sectors who are looking to transition into the battery storage sector. You will be part of a team of renowned industry experts and serve as the central instance for project realization. By implementing critical infrastructure at the heart of Germany's energy transition, you will actively drive your professional development forward.
Your tasks:
- Take full responsibility for project management and steer projects through all phases from Ready-to-Build (RTB) to Energization and Commercial Operation Date (COD).
- Steer technical and commercial project transitions until the Notice to Proceed (NTP).
- Directly supervise and monitor EPC contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with time plans, technical specifications, and safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and resolve on-site issues and challenges.
- Perform comprehensive project controlling including cost, schedule, and quality monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure target achievement.
- Review and enforce EPC and supplier contracts to ensure complete contract fulfillment.
- Represent the project to external stakeholders such as investors, authorities, and grid operators.
- Lead interdisciplinary project teams and actively participate in building project standards, benchmarks, and processes within the organization.
Your qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energies, or a comparable technical field; further education in construction or project management is advantageous.
- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience with demonstrable responsibility for project budgets, schedules, and supplier management, as well as increasing levels of responsibility and technical complexity.
- Fundamental understanding of renewable energies and battery storage systems (BESS), grid integration, and electrical energy systems.
- Experience in cooperating up to the Notice to Proceed (NTP), particularly in finalizing EPC and O&M contracts, coordinating technical due diligence, budgeting, and aligning with project financing.
- Experience in project operation, including supervising contractors, monitoring construction progress, and conducting quality and acceptance tests.
- Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills, as well as a high level of sensitivity for different mentalities and work styles in an international business environment.
- Very good verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent social competence.
- Fluent English language skills in spoken and written form, as well as German language skills at C1 level.
- High travel readiness to project locations within Germany.
What we offer:
- A role with real responsibility and high learning potential.
- Insights into a growing climate-tech company.
- A modern office with a rooftop garden and in-house kitchen.
- Free snacks and beverages.
- A friendly, international team with a meaningful mission.
- Flexible options for mobile work.
- Support for personal and professional development.
- Subsidy for membership at the fitness studio.
- Germany ticket.
