Job description
Construction and Technical Recruitment (CTR) are working with a well-established construction company is seeking an experienced Intermediate Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of a significant project in Wellington. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a high-value education project within a supportive and professional contracting environment.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of the project, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will be site-based and work closely with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and client representatives.

The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of the project, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key responsibilities will include:
- Full project lifecycle management from site establishment through to practical completion and handover
- Developing, maintaining and reporting against construction programmes
- Managing project budgets, forecasting, variations and cost control
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site management teams
- Ensuring compliance with MoE requirements, building consents and contractual obligations
- Leading health & safety, quality assurance and environmental management processes
- Regular communication and reporting to senior management and stakeholders
- Proactively identifying and managing project risks and opportunities
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience as an Intermediate Project Manager within the New Zealand construction industry
- Demonstrated experience delivering commercial or education-sector projects
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, programming and financial management
- Confident leadership style with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors on site
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to project delivery
- Permanent, Wellington-based role
- Salary in the $150k+ range, depending on experience
- Company vehicle and associated tools of trade
- Long-term, stable project with a clear programme through to late 2027 and forward pipeline
- Opportunity to work on a well-resourced and professionally managed education project
