Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager with specialized expertise in shoring, deep foundations, and piling to lead and manage infrastructure and industrial projects in Calgary and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of project delivery, including planning, contract administration, procurement, construction execution, and client relations. This role requires a strong technical foundation in civil engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and proven experience delivering complex heavy civil projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management & Leadership
  

• Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of shoring, foundation, and piling projects.
  
• Supervise and mentor field teams, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
  
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  

Contract Administration & Documentation

• Manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and progress claims.
  
• Prepare and review project documentation, tender packages, and technical correspondence.
  
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory standards, and company policies.
  

Procurement & Material Management

• Lead tendering, bid evaluations, and subcontractor negotiations.
  
• Oversee procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services.
  
• Track delivery schedules and coordinate material handling to support site operations.
  

Technical & Quality Management

• Review and interpret engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, and specifications.
  
• Provide constructability input during design and pre-construction phases.
  
• Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure high construction standards.
  

Client & Stakeholder Relations

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to support ongoing and future work.
  
• Represent the company professionally at meetings, presentations, and site inspections.
  

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma or relevant work experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  
• P.Eng. or PMP designation considered an asset.
  
• Minimum 5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction (with direct experience in shoring, foundations, and piling).
  
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, RFIs, tenders, and procurement processes.
  
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  
• Strong understanding of quality management systems, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
  
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  
• Proficiency with project management software (Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent).
  
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel to project sites across Alberta.
