Project Manager - Data Migration

• Define project scope, objectives and deliverables in collaboration with IT leads and business sponsors
• Understand existing Sybase data structure, batch jobs logic, sequencing and schedule
• Develop & manage detailed migration plan. Coordinate with the internal PMO function for project onboarding, configuration and tracking on approved PM tools
• Coordinate with cross functional teams & vendors
• Oversee data mapping, transformation, validation and testing activities
• Manage vendor coordination for tools & services supporting the migration
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security policies and regulatory requirements
• Identify & manage migration related risks including data loss, downtime & performance issues
• Ensure adherence to QA/UAT protocols and change management process
• Support audit readiness and documentation
• Define, Setup and run governance forums
• Communicate progress, risks, decisions to executive leadership and stakeholders
• Drive post migration validation, optimization and improvement opportunities post migration to enhance data performance and usability
• Mentor and guide technical teams throughout the migration journey
• Lead and drive change management & knowledge transfer

Requirements

Ø 10+ years of experience in database management with atleast 3 years in leadership or managerial roles

Ø Proven expertise delivering atleast one enterprise level Sybase to Oracle data migration project

Ø Familiarity with Oracle DMS or Sybase

Ø Solid understanding of relational database systems, data structures and SQL

Ø Proficiency in data modelling, ETL tools/processes, performance tuning and migration planning best practices

Ø Experience with cloud based database platforms is a plus

Ø Strong project management skills

Ø Strong knowledge of SDLC and project management methodologies (Agile, waterfall, Hybrid)
