My client specialises in earthworks and general civils. They driven by delivering our projects on time, on budget, and to specification, while continuously raising the bar on safety and sustainability. They are actively involved in a wide range of projects around Waihi and the surrounding areas, including works on the local mine site and external project works.
They are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join the team as Project Lead - Site Services. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing crews across site services, external project works, and maintenance activities outside and within the mine site. The role ensures all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to client standards.The role involves planning and coordinating daily schedules, leading site crews, completing daily job cards, checking timesheets for accuracy, and reporting to the Operations Manager. You will also be required to operate machinery when needed to support project delivery. You will also be required to provide operational cover for the Operations Manager when needed, ensuring continuity of leadership, decision-making, and site coordination.
This position operates on a Monday – Friday, with flexibility across sites required.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage crews across site services and external project worksAbility to read and understand site plans and project scopes, and plan works to suit time, cost, and quality requirementsPlan, coordinate, and oversee daily work activitiesEnsure all work meets client, quality, and Health and Safety requirementsComplete daily job cards and check timesheets for accuracyOperate machinery when required to support project deliveryReport progress, risks, and resourcing needs to the Operations ManagerStep into the Operations Manager role when required to provide operational cover and leadership support
What you'll need to succeed:
Essential:Experience working in heavy industry environmentsStrong understanding of earthworks and site-based operationsProven leadership experience managing projects & crewsCompetent and confident machine operatorWTRStrong Health and Safety knowledge or willingness to adoptDesirable:
Demonstrated leadership experience; formal management qualifications an advantage
