The Marine Interiors Spa Group - a Fincantieri Company - is a world leader in the design and construction of turnkey furnishings for the naval sector, thanks to an international presence, a network of long-standing relationships with major shipowners, and lasting partnerships with the supply chain.

The figure sought will be integrated into a project team, as a Project Engineer, and will actively collaborate with the Project Manager. In this role, they will be responsible for translating client requirements into contractual concepts and scope, developing drawings and project engineering, and monitoring its execution, ensuring technical feasibility, compliance with naval constraints (weight, safety, space), and consistency with budget and schedule.

Activities

• Translate client requirements and architect concepts into contractual scope and engineerable/industrializable solutions;
• Develop the drawing package (from general arrangement to details) and project technical documentation;
• Verify the technical, logistical, budget, and schedule feasibility of design solutions;
• Ensure compliance with regulations (SOLAS, IMO, class rules) and fire, weight, and durability standards, and define material lists and specifications for procurement and production;
• Coordinate with Cost Estimators, Project Managers, production, suppliers, and shipyards to ensure consistency between design, costs, and execution constraints;
• Coordinate technical disciplines and integrate solutions on the project;
• Monitor onboard execution, support the resolution of technical issues, and manage variations, overseeing the design intent in balance with the operational constraints of refitting;
• Consolidate reusable solutions on repeated ships.

Requirements

• Technical/engineering education consistent with the professional area of reference;
• Experience in design/engineering proportionate to the seniority;
• Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, preferably 3D); BIM knowledge appreciated;
• Experience in design with weight, space, and safety constraints (in the naval sector or transferable complex fit-out) and knowledge of materials, workmanship, and outfitting processes;
• Preference for experience in cruise/naval/marine interiors on refit/conversions and sector specializations;
• Profiles from adjacent sectors such as civil interiors, high-end hospitality, technical architecture, EPC are also considered;
• Fluent English and availability for onboard/shipyard travel.
