Project Engineer / Process Engineering (m/w/d)

The Hywax GmbH is part of the international AWAX Group with around 700 employees. At our location in the Hamburg harbor, about 300 employees and 24 apprentices produce a broad spectrum of paraffin waxes on mineral oil and synthetic basis, wax emulsions, and Vaseline. Additional emulsion plants are located in Linz, Austria, and Birkenhead, UK. Our products are used worldwide in various industries, such as hot-melt adhesives, paper and packaging, paints and coatings, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, wood composites, candles, and road construction.

In our engineering team, people with different technical backgrounds work together to find good solutions. To strengthen this team, we are looking for a Project Engineer with a focus on process engineering.

Aufgaben

• You develop and optimize processes in close cooperation with Operations and R&D.
• You evaluate plants and process steps comprehensively and derive optimizations regarding safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness from them.
• You plan, control, and prioritize investment projects, especially CAPEX projects, independently and within the framework of cost, deadline, and quality targets.
• You create economic analyses and business cases, for example ROI considerations, to evaluate projects.
• You develop and evaluate technical concepts and studies on sustainable optimization of production and auxiliary facilities.
• You consider new technologies and innovative solution approaches in your projects.
• You are responsible for approval procedures and conduct safety analyses, such as HAZOP, through.
• You coordinate and supervise external contractors on construction sites.
• You apply project management standards and tools and develop them further.

Qualifikation

• You hold a successfully completed degree in engineering, ideally with a focus on process engineering or chemical engineering.
• You bring around 2-5 years of professional experience in a production company or engineering environment, ideally in the chemical industry.
• You have fundamental knowledge of process engineering facilities and experience in project management, especially with CAPEX projects.
• You work analytically, structured, and solution-oriented.
• You are communicative and assertive.
• You have very good German and English skills.
• You bring good IT skills, especially in SAP and MS Office.
